Cheques in BYTE: print on your own bank leaf

Print the cheques you issue on the bank leaves you already hold. Measure each bank account's layout once, test it on plain paper, and record post-dated cheques against the bills and invoices they settle.

What it covers

  • A cheque layout for each bank account: the cheque's size, and where each field sits, measured from the leaf's corner.
  • A test print on plain paper before you use a leaf. A test needs no payee or account.
  • Single-cheque printing, one cheque at a time, for the cheques you issue while each is marked issued.
  • Amount in words, in Arabic or English for each layout, with the currency named.
  • Long payee names and figures are fitted to their boxes.
  • Post-dated cheques in sales and purchases, with their due dates. One cheque can settle several bills or invoices.

How it works

  1. Set up a layout for each bank account once: measure the leaf and mark where each field sits.
  2. Run a test print on plain paper and hold it over a bank leaf until the fields line up.
  3. Issue a cheque in BYTE and print it on the next leaf. The leaf number is fixed when it prints.
  4. For a post-dated cheque, record its due date and the bills or invoices it settles.

  • Ask for a test print on your leaf size, with the amount in words in your language.
  • Ask which bank leaves you use, so we can confirm the layout before you rely on it.
  • Ask us to show a post-dated cheque that settles three bills.
